My dear wife had kept two kids busy all day, in spite of incessant rain. We live on the top of a ridge, so it can rain at our house, and still be sunny in the valley. It was fun to be greeted by a tent in the family room. Margi keeps ’em busy–she hates when they watch tv.
What to do in a rare summer rainstorm? Jump in mud puddles! Our area has two seasons: really rainy, and really hot/dry. We’re in the really hot/dry season, so it was a great treat when massive thunderstorms rolled through on Wednesday afternoon.
As soon as I got home from work, I asked the kids, “Who wants to go stomp in the puddles?” Two enthusiastic “I do’s” later, we got dressed for outdoors. Rain coats, boots, umbrellas, and we’re ready to go.
“Whatever the LORD pleases He does, In heaven and in earth, In the seas and in all deep places. He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; He makes lightning for the rain; He brings the wind out of His treasuries.” Psalms 135:6, 7, NKJV.
