Haaaa-YA!

Actually, in this case, it’s TAH!  That’s what my kids shout when they strike a blow in their Karate class.  It’s so much fun to see both my son (5) and daughter (7) learn how to give and take a blow without falling to pieces.  They’ve earned their yellow belt by performing a complicated set of moves called Short Form 1 in addition to about a dozen other moves like “Sword of Destruction,” a personal favorite.

Now that they’re yellow belts, they start sparring.  My daughter is in the pink helmet, my son is in the dark blue.  They love it–they ask for more!  It does a Daddy’s heart proud…

Blessed be the LORD my Rock, Who trains my hands for war, And my fingers for battle– (Psalms 144:1, NKJV).
