A Non-Partisan Memo…

To all who voted for President-Elect Obama…flag

To all who voted for Senator McCain…

To all who felt the wrong choice would shoot us to hell in a handbasket…

To all who felt the right choice would put a chicken in every pot…

God is on his throne.

For our God is in the heavens, and he does as he wishes. (Psalms 115:3, NLT).

The high and lofty one who inhabits eternity, the Holy One, says this: “I live in that high and holy place with those whose spirits are contrite and humble. I refresh the humble and give new courage to those with repentant hearts. (Isaiah 57:15, NLT).

It’s a testament to God’s grace that no matter what the outcome, history was made (either our first woman vice-president or our first African-American president). This could have never happened when I was a kid.

Congratulations to our nation’s incoming President and Vice-President.  Congratulations to the McCain/Palin ticket for a hard-fought campaign.

Now, let the Church be the Church.  May the Lord bring us BACK TO THE BIBLE so that his blessing can rest on our land.

  1. great post. regardless, God is sovereign. i posted something similar…but you are quite a bit more articulate 🙂
    enjoying your blog.

  2. Curious what you think on something… I’m not saying we’re there now – but, based on Scripture, do you think there will ever come a time in the future where, as the church, we will be held accountable for embracing or rejecting a certain candidate or leader of our nation… and our willingness to be vocal about that stance? This is something I’ve been chewing on – and I respect your opinion.

  3. Even though I am not a Californian (I’m a Nevadan, weird to say that), I am proud of CA’s decision on Prop 8. As for the candidates, it was an historic election and may end up being Biblical, if the one elected is who some think he is. Having said that, I’m glad its over, so sick of political ads.

  4. I can answer the phone again.

The one thing I carried out of this campaigning process is that, ultimately, both are futile. Either one would have been some form of a disappointment. I was not led to a point of depression. Rather, I came to a point of more dependence on the One who will never let us down.

And looking at the tags for this post, Bill, I’m glad to see you believe in election. I knew you’d come around.

  5. And let’s not neglect to make a regular request concerning the safety of Mr. Obama and his family. I truly believe he has put himself in a life-threatening situation. At least that’s what I read from our history. Sad. Enough said.

  6. Regardless of anything that happens in this world, Krishna is always the Supreme Personality of Godhead and the ultimate shelter. It’s good to know!

  7. Pandu… Thank you for visiting my website, and for taking the time to comment. You are always welcome. Of course you know I would respectfully and humbly disagree by saying that Jesus is Lord and the Trinity is the only shelter. But again, I am grateful you took time to visit and comment.
