You Go, Grandma

If it’s not too late to hop on the Susan Boyle bandwagon…

How many middle aged women do you know who can…

  • have more views on YouTube than Pres. Obama’s Innauguration?
  • put a big, dopey smile on Simon Cowell’s face?
  • bring a cynical audience to their feet in thunderous applause?

I love this. There’s too much cynicism in our world. Go Susan! and all the Susans and Sams like her!

“For instance, suppose someone comes into your meeting dressed in fancy clothes and expensive jewelry, and another comes in who is poor and dressed in shabby clothes. If you give special attention and a good seat to the rich person, but you say to the poor one, “You can stand over there, or else sit on the floor”–well, doesn’t this discrimination show that you are guided by wrong motives? Listen to me, dear brothers and sisters. Hasn’t God chosen the poor in this world to be rich in faith? Aren’t they the ones who will inherit the Kingdom he promised to those who love him?” James 2:2-5, NLT.

  1. Bill…

You know the sheer humility of this woman makes one think of James 4:6, “But He gives a greater grace… Therefore it says, “God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

    Grace,
    Joseph
